This dark honey hails from the Piedmont region of Italy, which sits just below the Alps. The name "Piedmont" actually means "at the foot of the mountain". This honey has a lot of linden nectar in it, plus the nectar from a variety of other high country flora.

Flavor Profile

A while back, a customer called and asked for our darkest and strongest honey. He explained that he preferred honey with a strong character and we recommended this Alpine honey. Think of a flavor mashup containing dried fruits and dried wildflowers combined with a hint of sweet molasses and you will not be too far off. If you are looking for an assertive honey with plenty of character, then this is it.

Suggested Uses

The floral sources that make up this honey pack some serious flavor with medicinal overtones. A spoonful of this honey in a cup of warm herbal tea makes a wonderful wellness tonic. Or to relieve a cough or sore throat, take a spoonful straight from the bottle.
